Gary Coleman dies

We are sure you know this by now... but if you haven't heard the news, Gary Coleman has died.

The last we heard from the 'Different strokes' star was that he was working as a security guard in L.A. He had a fiery temper and had landed himself in trouble quite a few times! We all saw those disastrous mug shots.

His family explained that Coleman had suffered a fall at home where he had knocked his head and fallen into a coma, one which he never came out of and sadly died.

His wife Shannon Price made the decision to turn off his life support machine last Friday. Gary passed away with loved ones at his side.

We are keeping the Coleman family in our thoughts at this time.

Madonna petitions

If you thought Madonna was only good for turning out pop hits then boy were you wrong! And so were we...

The hit making singer has not only adopted two children from Malawi and started building a school for girls there but most recently the Celebration singer has made headlines by campaigning for the release of the gay couple who were recently sentenced to 14 years of hard labour in a Malawian prison, as Homosexuality is still illegal in there.

After starting a petition that over 30 000 people worldwide signed, the Malawian President- Bingu wa Mutharika, ordered the release of the couple who are now in protective custody.

Madonna immediately took to her website once this announcement was made, to thank everyone who signed the petition!

Well done Madonna!

Celine Dion finally pregnant

Wow! It definitely seems like the season for stars to get pregnant! Over the past few weeks we have reported at least 3-4 pregnancy stories or rumours! And now it's Celine's turn.

Diva songstress and her produced husband Rene Angelil are welcoming not one baby but twins! It is no secret that the couple struggled to have their first child and getting pregnant a second time was even harder.

Earlier this year Dion announced that she and her husband were expecting a second child, sadly month's later Dion's rep. announced that she had lost the baby, but now she is safely pregnant again!

We are thrilled for this super famous family and can't wait to see the twins once they are born!

Alicia Key's pregnant

Baby alert!!!

There has been much speculation and controversy surrounding the relationship of Alicia Key's and her producer Swizz Beatz. Why the controversy you may ask, well Swizz is married!

Alicia and Beatz wife had an open argument over twitter about the adulterous affair that left may people shocked over Keys shameless infidelity and willingness to ruin a marriage. Well the marriage did end and now Keys is pregnant with their first child.

This will be Alicia's first child and Swizz's 3rd. He already has two boys from his previous relationship.

This isn't the only news thought- the couple have also revealed that they plan on marrying later in the year to!

Soccer fever

If you hadn't noticed the date, we are only two weeks away from the start off the Soccer World Cup!

An event all South African's, football fan's or not have been waiting for and now it is finally here! Schools will be going on holiday shortly, Varsities are postponing classes and even some Companies are closing for the period over which the tournament is taking place.

The flags representing every participating nation can been seen all over the country and if it still hasn't hit you yet... get this, Brazil the World's number one ranked football team has just touched down at O.R.Tambo! That's right- they have arrived.

Australia arrived last night and more teams are expected over the next few days!

This is a hugely exciting time for everyone and we really can't believe it is finally here!

American Idol finale

For those of you who have been watching the latest season of American Idol, you will know that the results are almost in and today the final show is taking place, American time.

This season has been as thrilling as the past shows have been and the last standing contestants are as different and unique in their own ways as possible.

Crystal Bowersox is the sweet-looking girl with a strong voice that is very eclectic and 'hipppy like', while Lee DeWyze is the attractive young guy who is charming and really wants to be a super star.

Each finalist will have a chance to sway the audience and judges by singing three of their best past songs, and they will have the opportunity to showcase their first singles!

We honestly cannot wait to watch the final show and are sure you are excited too!

Simon Monjack dies

When we heard the news about Brittany Murphy's sudden death in December last year we were all devastated and surprised.

The 32 year old actress was in the prime of her acting career and was looking healthy- be it, a bit thin but it really seemed like she was having the time of her life! Sadly appearances are deceiving and Murphy suffered a heart-attack in her Hollywood home and died.

Simon Monjack was her bereaved husband and yesterday it was reported that he too had died. Oddly enough, also of a heart- attack and even more strangely in the couple's home. The same home Brittany died in just 6 months earlier!

It is believed that his death was by natural causes and he had not been feeling well. His devastated mother-in-law, Murphy's mom is most overwhelmed by the last few month's events and can we blame her.

We wish the whole Monjack/Murphy family nothing but love and keep them in our thoughts at this difficult time.

Lindsay Lohan in more trouble

Yes we are actually serious!

Lindsay Lohan is in even more trouble and what is more shocking is the fact that she doesn't seem to care!

The Star has been partying in Cannes for the past few weeks and although she was due to appear in court- she claimed she could not return to Los Angeles because her passport had been stolen.

This however did not stop her from hitting a different party every night.

When she missed her court appearance the Supreme Judge issued a warrant for her arrest, however her Lawyer posted bail of $100 000! Still if she does not appear in court for her next scheduled date- she will most likely spend some time behind bars!

We sincerely hope that this girl gets her act together and starts behaving in a more responsible manner!

Naomi to appear in court...again

Naomi Campbell has been called to court again...

But this time it isn't because she has assaulted her personal assistant or chauffeur again. It's uber serious this time and she's not the one on trial. In fact Naomi has been called to testify against Liberia's ex President- Charles Taylor.

Taylor is accused of committing serious was crimes and of using 'blood diamonds' to negotiate weapon deals.

So why is Naomi involved? Well in 1997 Taylor and Campbell had a romantic dinner in South Africa where Taylor gave Naomi some 'Blood diamonds' supposedly as a display of his affection for her.

While Taylor denies this every happening, the prosecution believes otherwise and has therefore called Campbell to testify.

This is a very sticky situation and we are glad it's not us having to get up on the stand!

S Club 7 baby news

The kids from S club 7 have been out of the lime light for quite some time now but who can forget their catchy songs and awesome little TV series?

Members of the gang have still been spotted out and about and some are even celebrities in their own rights.

More recently however, our favourite S club girl- Rachel Stevens, has announced that she is having a baby! And we couldn't be more pleased for the 32 year old stunner!

The singer got married last year to Alex Bourne in an over the top ceremony that had the British media in a wedding frenzy!

We wish you luck Rachel and can't wait to see photies of the new arrival!

Subo gets dissed

Ever heard of a female Opera singer by the name of Dame Kiri Te Kanawa?

Er, well neither had we. But we have heard of Susan Boyle the middle aged Scottish women who shot to Super Stardom after appearing on and winning a British reality show. Her talent? An amazingly beautiful voice that has sold millions of CD's worldwide!

Well Dame Kiri, is an Opera singer who believes that Ol' Subo is just a flash in the pan. To put it in her words a 'whiz bang'. She believes Susan has gotten quick notoriety that will quickly fizzle out!

The Opera singer was reported to be insulted when a Journalist asked her during an interview about the British reality star and then went on to make some nasty comments.

Christina has a go at Gaga

Well when we heard this we were most outraged!!

Christina Aguilera has alleged slammed Lady Gaga for the second time. The has-been genie in a bottle singer reported referred to Lady Gaga as 'the newcomer' someone who is 'interesting to look at' and she can't tell if Gaga is 'a man or a women'.

Sounds like sour grapes to me!

All of these comments were made in magazine interviews and although Lady Gaga has not responded to any of these comments Aguilera has subsequently apologized for her rude remarks! She has even gone on to say that Lady Gaga is 'great'.

Well we hope this feud never gets off the ground and Lady Gaga pays absolutely no attention to Christina's jealous commentary!

Winnie movie mad

Winnie Madikizela Mandela has always been outspoken and in fact has given her opinion on almost everything, political or not.

Her first film industry grip was with Invictus- Mandela felt she was entitled to more lines and the two lines allocated to the actress playing her was insufficient! Of course this trivial complaint was ignored!

More recently however Winnie has expressed outrage at the fact that in the new movie loosely based on her life has Jennifer Hudson playing her (Winnie). We aren't really sure what she was expecting but now in a new complaint- Winnie has said that she wants to read the script for this movie to approve it before filming begins!

Winnie seems to be living on another planet!

We sincerely hope filming of this movie goes on as planned and Winnie sticks to something she is more familiar with... say er...politics.

Lil' Wayne in more trouble

One would think that if a person is serving a prison sentence they can't really get into much more trouble right?... Wrong.

It has been reported that Lil'Wayne is facing internal disciplinary action after violating prison rules. A charger and headphones for a digital music player were found in his cell. Prison regulations require inmates to only buy authorised headphones from the prison shop.

His violation however is not a crime but he still has to face a board for his actions.

Lil' Wayne is one of the greatest rapper's alive and our personal favourite. He is currently serving his one year gun possession sentence at a Ney York City jail. The rapper was found guilty last year and is a few months into his 'time'.

Wayne Brady live in South Africa

If you missed him last year, then now is your chance to see him live!

Comedian, Actor and live show performer Wayne Brady is in South Africa for the second time and will be entertaining audiences across the Nation!

Brady is famous for his role on 'Whose line is it anyway' but he is also an all round performer- adding singing to his repertoire in this year's shows in SA!

The tour kicks off in Johannesburg tonight at Carnival city then he goes onto Cape Town and Durban!

Julius Malema disciplined

Julius Malema has been obviously absent from the media lately.

We are usually use to seeing him on TV and on the front page of the news paper but in the last month or so, he has been very quiet. This is mainly because of the disciplinary hearing he has faced.

The ANC had finally had enough of Julius' outbursts and went as far as to say Julius was causing major divisions within the ANC.

The hearing was adjourned yesterday and Malema was found guilty and made to pay a fine of R10 000.

We certainly hope that this public humiliation will make Julius think twice about what he says next!

Mansfield in movie

Jeremy Mansfield is set to star in the new Toy Story movie! Yes our very own born and bred South African celebrity has landed a Pixar role.

Mansfield plays the role of 'Lifer'. A telephone who has been left in the 'toy box' and is never taken out. And this isn't a small, one-line role either. Lifer is a prominent character in the storyline.

We can't wait to see this animated film and based on the previous Toy Story movies, we are sure this one will be great! This is the second film Mansfield has been in and he also enjoys a successful Radio host's career on Highveld.

Justin Bieber treats his Mom

Just when you thought Justin Bieber couldn't get any better, he goes and treats his mom to a Mother's day shopping spree!

The teen heart throb was spotted in a ladies department store with his mom, a bodyguard and a male friend- don't worry ladies no girlfriend on the horizon just yet! After a little retail therapy the group moved around the mall, stopping for lunch and Justin even showed off his awesome skate moves at the skate park.

Through out the whole public outing, Justin was reported to be just like a normal kid and really friendly to his fans, who were taking photos of him- left, right and centre!

We are so glad this mega star hasn't lost his coolness and we really hope he stay's this grounded!

Lindsay Lohan in court

Few people embarrass me quite like Lindsay Lohan. Every time I see a photo of her or read a piece of gossip about her... I cringe!

This girl just does not know how to stay out of trouble! From dodgy photo's, shameful rumours and bizarre public appearances- Li Lo just does not know how to behave, or is she just misunderstood.

In more recent events, Linday is being sued for driving like a maniac down the highway with passengers in her car, who claim they were basically taken captive by Lohan. The incident took place way back in 07 but has been brought to court now!

As if being made to appear in court isn't bad enough, Li Lo was also way late! If only by 22 minutes, one would think she would try be on time for something of this magnitude.

Well we hope this will be the last of Lindsay's court appearances and she will start to clean up her life!

Corey Haim bad heart

When Corey Haim the star of Lost Boys died in March this year everyone assumed it was from a drug overdose. Corey had suffered from drug addiction for years. However his mother claimed that he had died from natural causes.

The coroner's office has finally agreed.

Although weed and cold medicine where found in his body, it has been reported that Corey was suffering from Pneumonia and a weak heart, this was a deadly combination in his case and led to the Actor dying.

It's a sad case of public assumption being reported as truth. Corey Haim simply suffered with a heart murmur that aided in his death.

We wish his mother well and keep her in our thoughts!

Ex-Vampire admits infidelity

David Boreanaz... Does anyone even remember this guy?

Yes that's right, the good vampire from Buffy the Vampire slayer, the teen series that made Sarah Michelle Gellar famous. Well anyways David has recently jumped onto the cheating bandwagon!

It seems to be rather popular these days, first Tiger then Jesse James!!

Boreanaz has admitted to having an affair with a women he has known for a few years, when the alleged mistress asked David for money... he suspected he was going to be blackmailed and decided to come out with the truth to his wife and anyone else who cared to listen.

David and his wife of 9 years have two children together.

Sadly his confession doesn't seem sincere to me but we wish this Hollywood couple all the best and hope they can work through this disaster!

Mariah weds again

If you thought Mariah Carey had cooled off from her diva ways, then boy were you wrong!

This past weekend Mariah and her beau Nick Cannon got hitched again! All in celebration of their second wedding anniversary!

Cannon is quoted as saying 'this is our thing' referring to the fact that the pair renew their vows on a yearly basis.

This is in fact the third time the couple have wed!

Cannon presented Carey with a stunning diamond encrusted white gold ring! Which is befitting for her over the top lifestyle!
