Sad but true. The Dark Knight Rises may be uber hard-core Christian Bale's final show as crime-fighting superhero Batman. Set for release in July 2012, this movie will be his third time as Gotham's Caped Crusader. The first in the franchise was Batman Begins (2005) which was followed by The Dark Knight (2008).
"I wrapped a few days ago, so that will be the last time I'm taking that cowl [Batman hood] off," Bale told the newspaper during an interview in Beverly Hills. "I believe that the whole production wrapped yesterday, so it's all done. Everything is finished. It's me and Chris -- that will be the end of that Batman era."
Joining Bale in The Dark Knight Rises are Tom Hardy, Joseph Gordon-Levitt and Anne Hathaway, as Catwoman.
Film actors who have preceded Bale in the dual role of Batman and his alter ego, Bruce Wayne, include Michael Keaton, Val Kilmer and George Clooney.

Fan of M-Net's The Wild? Note the new timeslot!
M-Net is moving its local soap The Wild to a new time slot to try and lure more viewers into watching! Just 10 months into the show, it will move from the 18:00 slot to the 19:00 slot on Monday January 16 in a move that will possibly attract more viewers.
So far, it's weekly viewership number are nothing to what M-Net's old soapie Egoli used to be - while Egoli held top spot on M-Net's top 10 most watched shows for the week for two years, The Wild is at the 9th place on the same list....
The time slot change means that from January 16 The Wild will be competing against news bulletins on SABC2, SABC3 and e.tv at 19:00. M-Net has not officially addressed the reasons for the time slot move yet.

The Metro FM Awards and it's big winners!
The glitz, the glamor. Held at Mbombela Stadium in Nelspruit, Mpumalanga, the Metro Awards were stolen by the new sensational Afro-pop singer Zahara and AKA.
Zahara scooped two Awards for herself Best Female Album and Song of The Year. AKA's debut album Altar Ego won in all the three categories he was nominated in Best Produced Album, Best Hip Hop Album and Best Newcomer.
Despite a good show, this years Metro FM Awards were fraught with logistical problems from the start including massive accommodation issues. While some people were staying over 20km from the event, many either had no where to stay or were only booked in for one night.

Justin Bieber's DNA test!
We've all heard the scandal begun by Mariah Yeater, 20, who is claiming that the father of her four-month-old son is in fact pop superstar Justin Bieber. Well, just to end the whole saga, Justin has taken a DNA test to disprove a fan's claim.
Justin claims that he's never even met Mariah, who said they 'met' at a Los Angeles concert. Mariah's lawsuit isn't looking to solid at the moment though, as even her lawyers have stopped representing her according to The Sun, but she wants to pursue the case on her own.
Bieber wants the whole sordid story to end: "as far as the baby situation [is concerned], it's unfortunate that it had to happen like that. People make false accusations, but things happen in this industry and you have to keep your head high and be positive."

Mickey Mouse turns 83
One of the world most loved and well-known characters turned 83 today - yup it's Mickey Mouse!
Creator Walt Disney got the inspiration for Mickey Mouse back in 1925 from his old pet mouse he used to have on his farm. It was with animator, Hugh Harman, he began to create Mickey that began as some sketches of mice drawn around a photograph of himself.
With another animator, Ub Iwerks, Disney (who was working for Universal at the time), began working on Mickey's debut, but it was only in November 1928 that Steamboat Willie caught the eye of a distributor and made the Disney's name known.
Over the years, he collected many friends including girlfriend Minnie Mouse (originally Minerva), Donald Duck, Horace Horsecollar (1929), Goofy (1932), his lovable and silly dog, Pluto, Daisy Duck and Clarabelle Cow!
Today, his 83rd birthday, he is celebrated by thousands, including celebrities brought to fame by The Mickey Mouse Club like Justin Timberlake and Ryan Gosling.

Amy Winehouse Wrote a 3rd Album
Before her death in July this year, Amy Winehouse already had a complete album waiting in the wings - complete with all the songs written by herself, titles the lot. By why wasn't it then released?
Music producer Salaam Remi (who worked on both her Frank and Back to Black albums) says that she wasn't in any rush to release the album. Remi also mentioned that she was interested in recording with Roots drummer Guestlove and saxophone player Soweta Kinch before her third album would come out.
"She was taking her time with it, and at the end of the day all of her songs are somewhat autobiographical, so she had to live through something, then get out of it and then look back at it to be able to write about it," he said. "Who knows what will happen in the future with that," he said of the songs she penned.
Amy died from accidental alcohol poisoning at age 27 at home in London on July 23.

Oprah gets Oscar!
Actress and producer Oprah Winfrey has received top honors yet again - this time in the form of the little gold statue Oscar, (the Jean Hersholt Humanitarian Award) for all her humanitarian work over the last quarter-century.
The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences has given the award to few deserving recipients over the years since it began in 1956. Oprah share the honor with the likes of Bob Hope, Gregory Peck, Audrey Hepburn, Elizabeth Taylor, Paul Newman and Jerry Lewis.
"I never imagined myself receiving an Oscar, especially for what I'm considering my calling," Winfrey said, visibly moved. "Nobody could ever imagine that it would be possible that you could be anything other than a maid, who had some good white folks who would give her clothes and let her take food home for the holiday," she said. "It's unimaginable that I would be standing before you tonight."

Bafana hold the 'Elephants'
Bafana Bafana came back to force a 1-1 draw with Ivory Coast in an exciting Nelson Mandela Challenge clash that meant the two sides shared the trophy at the Nelson Mandela Bay Stadium in Port Elizabeth on Saturday.
The Ivorians took the lead through an own-goal from substitute defender Siboniso Gaxa in the 36th minute after a defensive mix up that was instigated by midfielder Yaya Toure, who had powered his way into the box.
Striker Katlego Mphela equalised for South Africa in the 53rd minute with a trademark free-kick taken outside the box, stunningly landing on the right hand side corner of the post.
In the team's first match since failing in the 2012 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers last month, Bafana gave an impressive display against the star-studded Ivorians – who are also the continent's best ranked team –in front of 23, 000 supporters at the picturesque venue.
