Coldplay and Rihanna take the Grammy Stage

With a single tweet, Rihanna has gotten everyone even more excited about the Grammy Awards: "My friends @ColdPlay and I will be sharing the stage for a performance at this years Annual Grammy Awards!"

For the first time ever, Rihanna and Coldplay will perform "Princess of China" to a live audience. She followed her initial tweet with this one: "WE reached 2BILLION views on @youtube !!! THANK U!!! I'm in a great mood, and I got some GREAT NEWS!!! PRINCESS OF CHINA #GRAMMYS2012."

Chris Martin, Coldplay's frontman has said: "Our new record is sort of a story; it's not quite a musical, but it's dangerously close. There's a bit of a love-story thread, so we really needed someone to sing even higher than me. [It's] hard, but very possible. You need to be a female really. So, in like a dream scenario, we had a song that I'd secretly kind of written to see if Rihanna would want to sing it. And then the rest of the band wanted to keep it, so we came up with the idea of asking her to sing it with us, and, to our great surprise, she said okay."

As we get closer to the awards night, more performers will be revealed. But we gotta say, this one leaves us very thrilled!

‘Diva’ fly named after Beyoncé

When you think of Beyoncé, you do not associate that with flies. Well, maybe now you will. Times Live has reported that an Australian scientist has name a fly after the singer, because the species has a golden lower abdomen.

Bryan Lessard, a researcher from a government institute said he paid tribute to Beyoncé’s bum because the colour of the insect’s bottom made it a “diva of flies”.

The fly has been dubbed Scaptia (Plinthina) beyonceae. "It was the unique dense golden hairs on the fly's abdomen that led me to name this fly in honour of the performer Beyoncé as well as giving me the chance to demonstrate the fun side of taxonomy -- the naming of species.”
