Lindsay Lohan sued for $1m

Poor Lindsay Lohan is up to her neck in things again - this time she is being sued for $1m for apparently assaulting on an employee of the California rehab centre where she spent three months in treatment for drug and alcohol abuse.

The employee, Dawn Bradley, claims that that Lohan yelled at her, threw a phone, grabbed her wrist and twisted it - causing "significant injury" to her wrist as well as "post-traumatic stress syndrome requiring several therapy sessions" - while she was trying to make her do a breathalyser test in December at the Betty Ford Centre near Palm Springs.

the $1m is apparently for damages and medial expenses but Prosecutors in Riverside County have already dismissed the case once before this year because of a lack of evidence.

Despite the fact that her Hollywood career has been sliding downhill with her drug and alcohol problems she is due to start filming a movie about New York crime boss John Gotti in the fall with co-stars John Travolta and Al Pacino.

Nelson Mandela goes back to his hometown...

With his 93rd birthday coming up on Monday, former president Nelson Mandela has retreated home to Qunu, outside Mthatha.

Mandela arrived on a military medical aircraft at the Mthatha Airport just after 2.30pm, and all journalists were kept at bay while Madiba was whisked away by a convoy of traffic authority vehicles, police and VIP protection unit members and ambulances.

No pictures were to be taken and General Zola Dabula, head of clinical services in the SANDF, "politely" asked reporters to leave the premises immediately ahead of introducing them to Tata Madiba: "I do not care whether you are a re reporter from SABC or the Daily Dispatch. Not anyone can do a Mandela story, so I will ask you gentlemen to leave," Dabula said.

It is the second time that Mandela has visited his rural home since he was discharged from hospital earlier this year.

Double trouble for Emma Watson

According to Rupert Grint, who plays Ron Weasley in the blockbuster Harry Potter movies, Emma Watson needed a "lot of doubles" on Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 2 set because of her commitment to university.

While they were shooting this last film, the British actress - who has played Hermione in all of the eight films based on the books by JK Rowling - was studying at Brown University in the US wasn't always around for her scene. University came first and Rupert admitted that he wouldn't be able to handle it.

"She wasn't here a lot, really. We had to shoot around her, really, because she had commitments for her university. She had a lot of doubles. They made a mask of Emma's face, a prosthetic for wide shots. She was there for big days and really important scenes and stuff. But I don't know how she did it, really. It'd be so weird to be in that school environment and then be on set. I couldn't do it."

Britians Royals to tighted the belt

Yesterday, the annual report on royal finances was released and it looks like Queen Elizabeth II will need t put up with that leaky roof a bit longer...

In the past year, the monarchy has cost the British taxpayers nearly £32m, 5.3% down from last year as the cuts begin. Where was this first 5.3% taken from? the maintenance of royal residences - that leaky roof will just have to wait!

"The queen is very keen that the Royal Household should continue to reduce its expenditure in line with public expenditure reductions," said the royal family's treasurer, Sir Alan Reid.

As part of government's plan to start reducing Britain's deficit the Royals will need to tighten their belts in the years to come.
