After much anticipation and a long wait, the Matric results for 2009 were released today!
While many students are celebrating their achievements and exams past other are forced to face the reality that they will not be going on to University with their friends.
The previous year saw a total of 62.5% of students passing Grade 12 and Angie Motshekga South Africa’s Basic Education Minister said she expected this year’s results to be better.
However she along with many others were sorely disappointed when it was revealed that only 60.7% of learners passed their final examinations!
Motshekga was quoted as saying that the results were ‘very disappointing’.
All we can say is, congratulations to all of those who did pass! We are most proud of you and wish you nothing but the best for you future!
