The Proteas coach resigns

The big news this week comes in the form of Mickey Arthur's resignation as coach of the South African cricket team.

It is not completely clear why he has quit his post but speculation suggests that it comes down to Mickey and Proteas Captain Graeme Smith having a huge difference of opinion and simply not being able to work together. However Arthur dismisses these rumours saying that it was just time for him to leave.

According to reports, the surprise resignation was just as much a shock to the rest of the Protea's team as it was to the public.

This resignation comes days before the South African team are due to leave for India.

A press conference is being held today (Wednesday) in Port Elizabeth, where Arthur is expected to address the media, amoung others and give reasons for his resignation.
