Charities to benefit from wedding

They have everything - along with a good heart: the Royal couple Prince William and Kate Middleton, have asked all who will to share their joy and give them pressies for their nuptials
to rather put the money their would have spent into a fund to support 26 charities, many of which are not well known.

Those set to benefit from the gifts are charities across the commonwealth including earthquake stricken Christchurch in New Zealand, the Canadian Coast Guard Auxiliary and Australia's Royal Flying Doctor Service. Others are in and around Britain - some reflecting the prince's military background with donations to help service personnel and their families, such as the Army Widows' Association.

And don't worry SA - even though we won't be getting a public holiday, we won't be missing out on the fun completely! Hotels, social clubs, schools, charity organisations and the British High Commission will be throwing parties and showing the wedding on giant screens!

Jackson’s mom not making the world a "better place" with clash over charity

In 1992, Michael Jackson sang "Heal the world. Make it a better place for you and for me." If only his mother (Katherine Jackson) and the estate he left behind would listen to the song again as they fight each other over the non-profit Heal the World Foundation.

The charity (who Jackson's mother and father are on the board of directors of) claims that it is the successor to Michael's now defunct charity inspired by the song and as a result has fought to stake its claim to several Jackson-related trademarks and likeness rights that the singer's estate claims that it should own.

It's no small amount that's been fought over here - the trademarks are worth millions of dollars and importantly, a piece of Jackson's legacy. Katherine Jackson insists that "Michael would be very upset, if he knew that our charity was being torn down by people who say they are doing what he wanted." but the Estate claims that they have no right to these trademarks.

Besides their extraordinary professional lives, Jada says home life is as ordinary as they can make it: "We spend a lot of time together. I do outdoor things with the kids, which Will doesn't so much because he's not a fan of nature. We surf, we hike, it keeps us grounded. I bake, we sit around the table. The kids' rooms are very messy."
