Lady Gaga caught being dishonest?

Lady Gaga is facing a law-suit as she is being sued for allegedly not handing over all the money she made by selling wristbands in aid of Japan’s earthquake relief efforts to the victims she promised it too....oh dear!

A Michigan legal network has also added their suspicions that Gaga and the other companies selling the $5 white and red “We Pray for Japan” wristbands were actually charging people a bit much in shipping costs and they fibbed about the total amount donated to boot.

Gaga is said to have donated more than $3 million to the relief efforts through the bands and other efforts, and was in face at a benefit concert in Japan when the lawsuit was filed on Friday.

Oprah walks away with top honour - SA style!

During her recent visit, Oprah Winfrey was awarded an honorary doctorate in education from the University of the Free State.

Many asked why the icon choose to honour this particular varsity - scarred by the racist Reitz video scandal a few years ago - and Winfrey admitted that it was an article in the Sunday Times by Jansen about not accepting mediocrity in SA that inspired her.

Oprah described the university's journey in the fight against racism was "amazing", "I reached a point in my life where I only do what I want to do. And so, when John Samuel was telling me about the great things that were happening in terms of reconciliation, transformation ... I thought this is something I wished to see and was willing to give up my time for," Winfrey said.

"I really do believe that what has happened here at this university comes under the category of amazing."

Rich and famous under the spotlight

You wouldn't usually put Sir Richard Branson, Julius Malema and Liberia's President Ellen Johnson Sirleaf in the same group, but they are all part of a group of 'influential personalities' being filmed for a new documentary.

The brain-child of "MTV Base Meets", this eight-part series (Aimed at giving Africa's youth a voice) is going to have these guys face some gruelling Q&A sessions with about 40 people between 16 and 30 years old from our African Continent.

Johannesburg comedian Daniel "Deep Fried Man" Friedman, 30, was among a group of five who had a meeting with Malema, the ANC Youth League leader.

''I went in there with a long list of questions but I think I buckled a bit. I ended up asking him about nationalisation and his relationship with President (Jacob) Zuma," said Friedman, who was one of two South Africans who met Malema.

Winnie Mandela still 'insulted' by movie on her life

So, news is, is that Winnie is still upset about the pending movie about her starring Jennifer Hudson. But it's not the American actors in it that are irking her, it's the romantic Hollywood spin on her life that she says is an insult.

At the 2010 Cannes film festival director Darrell Roodt (best known for 'Cry, the Beloved Country' and the Oscar-nominated Aids film 'Yesterday') described the film as "the ultimate women's movie" and "an amazing love story".

Winnie told CNN: "I was not consulted...I am still alive, and I think that it is a total disrespect to come to South Africa, make a movie about my struggle, and call that movie some translation of a romantic life of Winnie Mandela."

Despite no blessing the film is on track to be release at the end of this year.

Twilight dazzles fans at MTV awards

This is the 3rd year in a row tht the MTV Movie Awards have been swept up by the vamp romance Twilight!

The final movie, The Twilight Saga: Eclipse, had a whopping eight nominations, and ended the evening with five awards. And, just like last year, Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart came out tops for best male and female performance, respectively.

These were no Academy Awards, as the categories cover things like "best kiss" (Robert and Kristen), "best fight", (Shared by Robert Pattinson and Twilight co-stars Bryce Dallas Howard and Xavier Samuel).

All the awards are decided by fans’ online votes - which is also probably why Justin Bieber walked away with the 'best jaw dropping moment' for his 3D concert film Never Say Never (beating Black Swan and 127 Hours!)
