Don't miss the action at Soweto's Orlando Stadium where top local and international house music DJs will be spinning the decks.

Just some of the people you can hope to see and hear from 3pm today are Louie Vega, Black Coffee, DJ Tira, Vinny da Vinci, Christos, Culoe de Song and even Liquideep. METRO FM's DJs Christos and Vinny da Vinci will be broadcasting their radio show live from the festival plus there will be coverage on SABC during the weekend.

This is set to be the biggest dance music festival this year with over 20 000 people expected to attend.

South Africa’s top girl group Jamali are back with style and new tunes!

It's been 3 years since we've seen or heard anything from the award-winning group Jamali but here they are with their fourth album, Toxic Candy, which they say is a mix of love songs and their good old dance and electronic anthems! When and where will this album be launched? Tomorrow in the Marcellus Theatre at Emperors Palace at 8.30pm!

"The launch is set to be a musical extravaganza and will showcase Jamali's new songs, dance routines and cutting edge fashion style," Jamali's representative, Rose Harman, says.

Justin Bieber beats MJ at box office with his new movie!

It's official, Justin's documentary Never Say Never (3D) has over taken Micheal Jackson's documentary This Is It as the most successful concert-themed film in US history.

Being all of 17, "Never Say Never" has already made more ($72.2m) than the King of Pop's "This Is It" that was released after this death (it made $72.1m, according to The Hollywood Reporter). But remember, this is only in the US, as worldwide figure show that while Justin only raked in $10.8m, "This Is It" got it's due making $189.1m overseas.

On a similar note, Justin's music video Baby has crossed 500 million hits on YouTube making it YouTube's most watched vid EVER!Despite this though, the video had also scored a incredible 1.1 million "dislikes" and only 578 000 "likes"!

Twilight's Breaking Dawn to show a "completely different" Kristen Stewart!

Hottie Robert Pattinson (Edward Cullen in the movie) has said that Kristen (Bella) is a "convincing" vampire and her character has developed in Breaking Dawn - then again, he wouldn't say anything against the love of his life, would he? Then again, he did find the scene when Kristen Stewart's Bella Swan gives birth to their daughter Renesmee, "kind of hilarious."

He said: "I can't give too much away but there's some bits, especially towards the end of the movie, she's just like the polar opposite of any of the other films."

Pattinson is a little nervous for the shooting of the wedding scene, especially since he predicts - probably quite rightly - that the paparazzi will be "parasailing in" on!

Idols in Dobsonville, Soweto!

For all you Hip Hop fans, our very own star HHP has made a special trip back to sunny SA from the States to be the celeb guest judge for the Gauteng leg of Idols season seven auditions!

Idols Judge Unathi Msengana said: "It's the first time ever that Idols is going to any township, let alone the biggest township in South Africa."

This is the first Idols will be hosted in Dobsonville Stadium in Soweto and while the first round is due to start tomorrow, those who make the cut will need to come back on Sunday another round! For those who make it though THAT round, Randall Abrahams, Gareth Cliff, Unathi Msengana and HHP will be waiting for the next weekend at Montecasino in Fourways!Auditions have already been held in Cape Town, Durban and Polokwane.

Lindsay Lohan off to court!

Your all remember the ongoing necklace debacle? Well, the actress has opted for a full-scale trial on the jewellery theft charge rather than accepting a deal from prosecutors to plead guilty, which would have put her behind bars for several months...

Lohan, 24, who has been in and out of rehab and jail for the past three years for drug and alcohol addiction, has said she would not accept the plea bargain because is is innocent and didn't steal the $2,500 gold necklace.

Her attorney, Shawn Holley's statement said that she rejected a judge's offer because she is "innocent" and "has a strong defence". Now we wait and see what the Jury decide! Good luck Lindsay!

Chris Brown rages about Rihanna questions!

And, we can't blame him can we? It's been two years and the 21-year-old singer is still being slated for his assault on his then-girlfriend, Rihanna.

During an interview in a New York TV studio a particularly pushy host kept changing the conversation back to his attacking Rihanna - after the show, in a fit of frustration he reportedly threw a chair at a window in his dressing room and ran out with his shirt off!

Chris was sentenced to five years probation and six months of community service for the assault in February 2009, but two years down the line, even Rihanna and her father have put it behind them - Rihanna requesting that the restraining order be loosened and her father by supporting her.

"It was really tough seeing the pictures of her beaten up, but I have forgiven him. He has lost so much from one stupid mistake,” Ronald Fenty (Rihanna's father) told The Sun. “So me making him feel even worse makes no sense. I feel sorry for him now.”.

The producers are looking for three new faces:
1. Zulu or Sesotho speaking male between the ages of 26 and 32.
2. Tshivenda and English speaking lady in her 40s to play a model C English schoolteacher
3. IsiZulu and Tshivenda speaking young lady who is 17 to 18-years old!"She must have a model C accent".

The Sowetan describes the show as a show that entertains, "but also teaches South Africans to value their culture, know their roots and never ever be ashamed of who they are." If you feel like you could be past of this, and fit in with their criteria go along to the audition!

Katy Perry’s Devout Christian Mother Has Written A Tell-All Book

Yup, you read it right.Katy Perry's mother has written a book detailing how her daughter's career has 'affected her Christian life'. Even though Mary Perry Hudson is very proud of what Katy has achieved in her career, she doesn’t hide the fact that she also strongly disagrees with many of the choices she’s made in her life….

The description for the book reads, "This memoir is her story, in her own words. She loves her daughter very much and is very proud of her accomplishments, but disagrees with a lot of choices she makes in her career.”

Katy Perry’s parents, Mary and Kieth run a Christian Ministry in California, Mary describes in the book how deeply ashamed she was of her daughter’s hit single I Kissed A Girl, for ‘promoting a sin’.

Anyway back to Mary's sure to be bestseller. It sounds like a real page turner. We need to get on a waiting list for this one.

SA shines in global talent search!

In the Avon Voices international online singing competition, the SA contestants have nabbed the second highest number of places in round 2 of the competition - The UK coming first and Spain coming in third. Six of the 188 contestants going through to the next round are South Africans!

Avon Products officially launched the competition last year in August in celebration of its 125th Anniversary: The online signing competition is for women and songwriting competition for men and women. From the over 6000 entries received from all over the world, Lynn Brooks, Kgalelelo Motlafi, Melina Katende, Elsche van Wyk, Yolande Strauss and Nondumiso Nyembezi are all going through to Paris to compete in the next round.

According to Happi Magazine "the goal of the talent search is to find two talented singers—one an Avon Representative—who may have the opportunity to record a professionally produced album, according to the company."

Andrea Jung, CEO and chairman of Avon Products, Inc. said that "Avon Voices will celebrate Avon's heritage and our future, as we raise women up through beauty, inspiration and song." Fergie, Diane Warren, Natasha Bedingfield, Lea Salonga, Valeriy, Delta Goodrem Ivete Sangalo, Sheila E., David Pack, and Maia will all be serving as judges.

Japan earthquake and tsunami update!

According to the United Nations, almost 600 000 people have been evacuated from Japan since biggest earthquake on record and the tsunami that followed, hit it on Friday.

The earthquake measured at 8.9 on the Richter scale - the scale used to measure the intensity of earthquakes, and a score of 10 is the strongest quake you can get! Japan is one of the world's most seismically active areas meaning that earthquakes are quite common in the area, but even this quake was bigger than anything on record. The quake triggering a 10m tsunami wave that destroyed what was left of the buildings and killed many more people.

The effects of the wave were felt by dozens of countries across the Pacific from Indonesia to Hawaii! Nations around the world have stepped forward to support Japan and all her people.

Lindsay Lohan trying to avoid being chucked into jail! AGAIN!

Shame, we frequently feel sorry for this Hollywood starlet as she just can't seem to get onto the straight and narrow. It's been drug and alcohol and now she has added theft charges to her list...

January found Lindsay doing a court-ordered stint in rehab for her drug addiction, this couldn't have gone too well though as, as soon as she got out she apparently walked out of a jewellery shop - found on the beachfront of LA - with a $2 500 gold necklace that she hadn't paid for...

She is also still actually on probation for a 2007 drunk driving offence which means that IF she is convicted for this grand theft charge, she's looking at up to 3 years in jail. Lindsay pleaded not guilty in a first appearance on February 9 but her lawyers are fighting to keep her out of jail. She was given another chance on yesterday to accept a plea bargain and has until March 25 to agree with it.

It's finally here: SA's own House Music Awards!

So, all you house music fans now have something to be pleased about: The DStv channel Vuzu and Bass Breaks Beats Music (BBB Music) have announced that this year will see the first House Music Awards in the Republic - an award show which will "honour the best of the best on (the) South Africa(n) house scene".

Scheduled to hit our screens in October, we'll see all the usual categories like Album Of The Year Artist of The Year, Best Male/Female, Best Remix even an award for outstanding contribution to house music.

Selena Gomez’s sends a message to all the 'haters'

Although it's not really surprising that Justin Bieber's new girl is getting some flak online since they went 'public' with their romance, it's still a little sad...

When the pics of her and Justin sharing a kiss hit the news sites, Selena actually got death threats through twitter and Facebook from Bieber fans! This is where her latest track, ‘Who Says?’, came out of: “Basically, it's to the haters, it's to the people who try to bring you down.”

Selena told host Ryan Seacrest on his KIIS-FM radio show that “within that world [Facebook/Twitter], there's just such easy access to people's feelings" - very true words.

Gwyneth Paltrow to record country album!?

We wonder if our fav country singer Taylor Swift will have some competition from Gwyneth (Hollywood star, married to Coldplay frontman Chris Martin) who's country voice has been discovered after the shooting of the movie 'Country Strong'!

Apparently, negotiations have started with Atlantic Records about releasing the country album,which will put her under the same umbrella of greats like Sean Paul, B.o.B, James Blunt and Kid Rock! A source has told the New York Post newspaper that "in recent weeks there have been discussions with Atlantic. Gwyneth is a very different name for Atlantic, and one who brings a lot of recognition."

If you watched the Oscars you may have heard her sing a rendition of nominated song 'Coming Home' from Country Strong. If you watched the Grammy Awards she even did a duet with Cee Lo Green - his hit Forget You.

Willow Smith snoozes off in meetings?!

It's seems that Whip My Hair sensation Willow is battling to keep up with the demands of the music industry as she was caught having a snooze in a meeting after a long night of fun...!

"I was hanging out the night before and had been dancing and having fun so I went to sleep at, like, 4am" . Unfortunately for her, it was when they first sat down to discuss her career with Roc Nation record label that she chose to snooze. Maybe she'll choose a better time next time!

But Willow quickly added: "I had glasses and so I was, like, nodding along, but they were listening to the song and he was just talking to my mom and dad. "

Bieber turns 17 in lovin' style!

Well, here is another one off the market: Justin Bieber and Disney singer-and-actress Selena Gomez made their 'relationship status' official at the Vanity Fair Oscars after-party, followed by a whopping $6000-a-night (about R41000) romantic weekend at the at the St Regis Monarch Beach hotel in Dana Point, California.

The presidential suite came with the whole bang-shoot: a butler, jacuzzi the lots, but apparently the couple kept it quiet and low key. In other news, Justin has recently released his debut movie Justin Bieber: Never Say Never, so watch out for that hitting our screens!
