Japan earthquake and tsunami update!

According to the United Nations, almost 600 000 people have been evacuated from Japan since biggest earthquake on record and the tsunami that followed, hit it on Friday.

The earthquake measured at 8.9 on the Richter scale - the scale used to measure the intensity of earthquakes, and a score of 10 is the strongest quake you can get! Japan is one of the world's most seismically active areas meaning that earthquakes are quite common in the area, but even this quake was bigger than anything on record. The quake triggering a 10m tsunami wave that destroyed what was left of the buildings and killed many more people.

The effects of the wave were felt by dozens of countries across the Pacific from Indonesia to Hawaii! Nations around the world have stepped forward to support Japan and all her people.
